Our garden exploded this past week. All my bleeding hearts are in bloom. The hostas are coming in. The alliums and bee balm have open blossoms. The white and purple violets have multiplied and are covered with delicate flowers.

Johann helped me do some weeding today. He knows I’ve had a rough week. He picked three violets for me. I put them in my mini vase that used to belong to my grandmother. They seemed to need more company, so I went out and picked enough to fill the vase. They are cheery next to my chair where I sit and knit. Just the pick-me-up I needed.
